Compre Group Holdings Limited (‘Compre’), the Bermuda-domiciled international specialty reinsurance group, today announced the promotion of Davin Patel to chief risk officer, subject to the necessary governance and regulatory approvals, and Thuan Ho to chief actuary, pricing, pending immigration approval.

Patel joined as one of Compre’s first actuaries in 2016 and has played a pivotal role in building its actuarial capabilities across reserving, capital management and underwriting due diligence. He has led transaction due diligence activities across all actuarial disciplines, while developing Compre’s pricing capabilities to support increasingly sophisticated transaction structures across the specialty reinsurance sector.

Having been involved in the majority of Compre’s transactions, Patel brings extensive knowledge of the group’s business, risk profile and strategic objectives to his new role. As CRO, he will lead Compre’s risk & compliance function and oversee the group’s enterprise risk management framework, supporting Compre’s continued growth while maintaining a strong risk and governance culture.

Ho succeeds Patel as chief actuary, pricing, from his current position as head of actuarial – M&A. Since joining Compre in 2022, he has played a vital role in actuarial pricing and transaction due diligence. He also led the development of Compre’s prospective pricing capabilities, supporting the new strategy and further strengthening the group’s ability to assess opportunities across the risk lifecycle. Ho will continue to enhance Compre’s actuarial capabilities as the group increasingly evaluates complex transaction opportunities.

Patel succeeds Brid Reynolds who resigned her position as CRO earlier this year. As an executive team member since 2021, Reynolds helped facilitate one of the most significant periods of growth in Compre’s history. Compre would like to thank Reynolds for her substantial contribution to the business and wish her every success for the future.

Today’s appointments provide continuity across Compre’s risk & compliance and actuarial pricing functions, while ensuring an effective transition of responsibilities. They also reflect Compre’s commitment to developing talent and retaining deep technical expertise and institutional knowledge as the group continues to grow.

David Atkins, deputy CEO of Compre, said: “These appointments are an important step in ensuring we have the leadership capability and depth of expertise to deliver our ambitions for the future. As Compre continues to grow and evolve, investing in our people and developing our leadership capability will remain central to our success. Davin and Thuan have both made significant contributions to the business, and their well-deserved appointments demonstrate the depth of talent we have developed within the Group.

“Their expertise will be integral as we continue to pursue our strategy, support our clients and build a successful, sustainable business for the long term.”
