Third Point Reinsurance Ltd. (NYSE: TPRE) (“Third Point Re” or the “Company”), today announces the appointment of David Sinclair as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Investments, effective September 2. He will report to Clare Himmer, Marketing Director, and will be based in London.
Sinclair’s appointment is part of Third Point Re’s strategy to build out its presence in Specialty Reinsurance and follows the appointment of Tracey Gibbons in April 2019 to lead the Specialty Reinsurance underwriting team. Sinclair will work with Clare Himmer and the Bermuda Specialty Treaty team to develop further opportunities in this area. He will also be working with David Govrin, President of Third Point Re USA Ltd., exploring investment opportunities for the Company, as part of its strategy to leverage its underwriting and capital markets expertise to offer capital alternatives in different forms.
Sinclair joins Third Point Re with over 25 years’ insurance experience. He spent the majority of his career at Transatlantic Re, most recently as head of capital solutions, where he was responsible for marketing and sourcing underwriting opportunities to provide capital via investment and for reinsurance capacity. Sinclair’s underwriting expertise and experience centers around capital provision at Lloyd’s, non-traditional structures and specialty lines including mortgage, credit, surety, political violence, political risks and legal expenses.
