Canopius Group, a leading global specialty (re)insurer, today announces that Jennie Rimmer has joined as head of tax.
Jennie, who will report to Canopius chief financial officer Gavin Phillips, has begun working at Canopius.
Having trained with KPMG, Jennie joins with over 25 years of experience in financial services. Jennie joins from her role as head of group tax at Randall & Quilter (R&Q). Prior to R&Q, Jennie held the position of group head of tax at Aspen, Lockton and Jardine Lloyd Thompson respectively. Jennie chairs the Tax Committee of the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) and is also a Trustee and Council member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Phillips said: “Jennie brings a breadth of experience of the Lloyd’s market and has significant knowledge of both UK and international tax jurisdictions, and we believe she will be the perfect cultural fit for Canopius.
“Through all our discussions, Jennie was the individual who most ably articulated how she would balance the role between maintaining our strong tax compliance track record and supporting the broader business growth agenda across all our geographies.”
Canopius’s outgoing head of tax, Andrew Cohen, will retire after the end of the financial year. Michael Watson, Canopius group chairman, said: “I’d like to thank Andrew personally for his dedication and excellent service to Canopius over the past 20 years. We wish him well in retirement.”
