Verisk SBS, a leading insurance and reinsurance software specialist operating in the London and US (re)insurance markets, today announces the appointments of Gordon Bathurst and Chris Spencer.
Bathurst joins as director of solutions, broking and Spencer as director of solutions, underwriting. Both are based in London and report to chief product officer Rich Smith. The appointments are effective immediately.
Bathurst and Spencer join Nick Ryall, director of solutions, analytics, to form a team of solutions directors across Verisk SBS’s three pillars of broking, underwriting and analytics. They will be supported by subject matter and domain experts, and will work collaboratively to analyse, strengthen and improve Verisk SBS’s broking and underwriting processes.
Bathurst brings nearly four decades of industry experience in broking and carrier roles. He joins from Miller where he spent more than 13 years, working his way up from business analyst to head of digital broking. During his career, Bathurst has also spent three years at QBE as a business analyst as well as roles at Lloyd Thompson and JLT Group. Prior to his move to technology Bathurst spent 10 years as a practitioner in reinsurance broking and underwriting.
Spencer joins Verisk SBS with more than 10 years of industry experience, having started his career as an underwriter holding roles at Aviva, RSA, and Zurich, before moving into the technology space as a business analyst, then product owner – Augmented Underwriting at Verisk SBS. Prior to re-joining Verisk SBS, Spencer was a product owner at IQUW.
