Acrisure Re, the re/insurance division of global fintech leader Acrisure, today announces an addition to its leadership team with the appointment of Roman Romeo as President, Head of Acrisure Re Bermuda, effective April 7. Romeo will lead Acrisure Re’s Bermuda team with a clear mandate: to scale the business, enhance client service capabilities, and build a high-performing team of forward-thinking professionals. With more than 20 years of experience across underwriting, analytics, and portfolio management, Romeo brings a wealth of insight and a strong track record of driving innovation and performance. He joins Acrisure Re from Aon, where he served as CEO of Aon Reinsurance Solutions, Bermuda. His prior roles include senior leadership positions at AXIS Capital, PartnerRe, Flagstone Reinsurance Holdings, and XL Group (now AXA XL), giving him deep and well-rounded exposure to all aspects of the reinsurance value chain.
In further strengthening its Bermuda presence, Acrisure Re also announces the appointment of Barry Gordon as Senior Vice President, ILW, effective April 15. Gordon is based in Bermuda and reports to Romeo and is responsible for trading ILWs as part of an indexed based product suite. He joins from Aon, where he most recently served as Vice President, ILW. Gordon brings deep expertise in Industry Loss Warranties (ILWs), alongside broader experience in retrocession and reinsurance.
