EC3 Brokers announces the establishment of its international financial and professional lines division with the appointment of David Purdy as divisional director, effective immediately. Purdy will report to James Murphy, head of broking at EC3 Brokers.
Purdy, who has more than 30 years’ industry experience, will be responsible for growing the business while servicing clients in both the wholesale and retail space.
Having joined Willis Towers Watson in 1987, Purdy was appointed executive director of Willis Towers Watson’s financial and executive risks practice in 2007. For the past 20 years he has been responsible for servicing large international accounts and was one of the first brokers to develop the concept of and encourage the purchase of D&O and financial lines products in Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. After bringing the lines of business back into London, he placed it into the local markets with the help of Willis Towers Watson.
Purdy said: “Current market conditions, while difficult and challenging, provide significant opportunities for brokers to present innovative solutions to their clients. I welcome this challenge and look forward to helping EC3 Brokers in growing the international and financial lines division into a successful business.”
Danny Driscoll, EC3 Brokers CEO, added: “David is a veteran of the insurance industry and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to EC3 Brokers. He is a valuable addition to the team, and I look forward to witnessing his continued success.”
