Gallagher Re, the global reinsurance broker, has appointed Andrew Robertson to the role of Executive Vice President in North America, effective immediately.
Well-respected and widely known in the international (re)insurance market, Andrew will be based in Stamford, Connecticut, and brings over 35 years’ industry experience to Gallagher Re, as well as a valuable blend of client management and underwriting expertise for the benefit of clients in the US and worldwide. He will support all aspects of the reinsurance broking business, notably the Alternative Distribution vertical, which includes the expanding MGA Practice.
Andrew joins from Swiss Re, where he held the position of Vice President – Client Markets and has spent the past 16 years in direct client-facing roles, focused on creating sustainable profitable growth through both structured reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (“ILS”) solutions. Prior to Swiss Re, he held underwriting and client management roles at GE Insurance and Munich Re, having also worked as a P&C treaty reinsurance underwriter and in London as a Lloyd’s broker.
