IVE Syndicate 2525, the specialist employers’ and third party liability Lloyd’s insurer, today announces the appointment of James Tully as an underwriter in the international casualty team, effective 6 October.
Tully joins from Brit Insurance where he has been an underwriter since 2018. Prior to this, he was an underwriter specialising in international casualty at QBE and Ironshore Insurance.
His appointment will strengthen the international casualty underwriting capability, a continued area of growth for the syndicate. This year, the syndicate under the leadership of active underwriter Tony Ive, has achieved Light Touch status with Lloyd’s, in recognition of its proven track record of profitability.
Charles Harcus, head of international casualty said: “We’re delighted to welcome James to the team and he could not have joined at a better time. Capacity is still restricted across the marketplace, rates are showing double digit increase, and as a syndicate we can take advantage of this by adding profitable business to our portfolio at the right premiums, terms and conditions. James brings a perfect blend of experience, expertise and enthusiasm, and he will play an integral role in the exciting journey ahead.”
Tully added: “I am really looking forward to joining IVE Syndicate 2525 and having the opportunity to work with such a dynamic team during an interesting period in the market.”
Formed in 2000, IVE Syndicate 2525 has established itself as a leader within the London market in all aspects of liability business, including offshore and construction risks. In 2014, a primary international liability account was established to underwrite SME business, construction risks and larger corporate accounts primarily in Canada, Australia and South Africa. IVE Syndicate 2525 is managed by Asta Managing Agency.
