Santam Syndicate 1918 (“the Syndicate”), part of Santam Group, Africa’s largest non-life insurer, today announces that Sam Geddes will assume the responsibilities of Active Underwriter. He reports to Gareth Beaver, CEO of Santam Specialist Solutions.
Geddes will take on additional responsibilities as the Syndicate’s Active Underwriter in addition to his Chief Executive Officer responsibilities, as the Syndicate continues to develop its underwriting platform and build out its presence in the Lloyd’s market.
Additionally, two Assistant Underwriters in the Property D&F team, Sam Tierney and Briyangha (Brie) Suthagaran, have been promoted to Underwriters in the Property D&F team. Tierney and Suthagaran will both report to Nigel Tatlock, Head of Property. The promotions recognise their contribution to the Syndicate’s property D&F team and the growth of their underwriting expertise.
